Fatty fish from the ocean or rather their valuable fatty acids, named Omega-3 fatty acids, can protect the heart and circulation. Therefore the personal risk to get a heart or circulation disease can be decreased significantly if one pays attention to a balanced diet. In order to regulate the cholesterol level the body needs unsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids, however, these cannot be formed by our body’s themselves. The unsaturated fatty acids, such as the ones that can be found in the Pharmavital Omega-3 capsules, should be taken in sufficient quantity every day. Omega 3- fatty acids are all- rounder and are for example good for the development of the brain of a new born, improve the plasma lipid concentration and therefore cause a better blood flow, decrease the blood pressure and the risk of a heart attack. These effects are caused by the long chained fatty acids DHA (Docosahexaenacid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenacid). Especially pregnant and nursing women should take in a sufficient amount of Omega-3 fatty acids. According to nutritional science we should eat fish 2-3 times per week in order to cover our need of polyunsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids. According to the DGE (German institute for nutrition) we should take between 1 g and 1,5 g Omega-3 fatty acids daily. As these healthy fatty acids are also present in other vegetable variants such as rapeseed, soy and walnut oil not only fish needs to be consumed. However, it is not always possible to follow the diet advice of scientists, due to a lack of time or other eating habits. Omega-3 fatty acids can be consumed in concentrated form through fish oil capsules. In our product range we offer two concentrations: Omega-3 500 mg and Omega- 3 1000 mg.
